I'm back after a long hiatus. I used to publish my Photo Hunt posts at The Fickle Minded; but from now on, I will start publishing my entries in this blog. In addition, I will try as much as possible to post pictures from Qatar in order to align with the blog's theme. Please leave your comment and the link to your Photo Hunt post so I can also visit your blog.

Photohunt: METAL

This is the Khalifa Stadium, the main venue for the 2006 Doha Asian Games. This Stadium was originally built in 1976 and was upgraded prior to the 2006 Asian Games, increasing the capcity from 20,000 to 50,000 people. As you can see, a large percentage of the Stadium is made of METAL.

Now that is indeed an interesting architectural design. I curious...are the arcing sides intended to be used for some purpose such as holding fabric roofing?

I've got my PhotoHunt entry up at http://www.anniemayhem.com/cgi-bin/wordpress/ in case you're interested. If you do visit, please leave a comment and feel free to explore the rest of my little blog.
